Meet Maximus, he’s a very stylish, hand painted almost square coffee table! I’ve called him Maximus because he’s solid, heavy and very well constructed! He Would be a fabulous addition to any home. Either as a coffee table and centre piece or as a side table or lamp stand. He has a lower shelf ideal for magazines and a good sized drawer perfect for storing those unsightly remotes, or maybe tea coasters for when you have guests.
painted in ‘Vintage with Grace’ mineral paint ‘Winifred’ also blended with a subtle touch of ‘Peacock’ on both the outside and inside of the drawer. The top, lower shelf and drawer front have been varnished with diamond tough varnish, (high traffic areas) to provide protection against wear and tear. and the rest of the paintwork is also protected and nourished with Wise Owl beautifully scented lotus flower hemp oil.
The top and shelf have been restyled with metallic Italian foil and various types of copper leaf to give it an unusual, but retro shimmering marbled effect.
The little drawer has also had a full makeover with an Art Deco stencil, metallic copper paint and more foil inlays. A new art nouveau/ Art Deco, industrial style, tarnished copper handle has been added to finish the look perfectly.
